Fans of East Mississippi Community College, the nation’s top ranked junior college football team, may watch the national championship game on television if they do not want to make the trip to Pittsburg, Kansas. CBS Sports Network will televise the game between East Mississippi and second-ranked Garden City Community College of Kansas at 7 p.m. (Central Time) Thursday, Nov. 29.
East Mississippi (11-0) qualified for the championship game with a 19-14 victory over Jones Junior College in the MACJC State Championship game. Garden City completed a 10-0 season with a 22-10 win over state rival Butler Community College. Although the Broncbusters will be playing in their home state, the two cities are more than 300 miles apart.
East Mississippi is seeking its second consecutive national championship and fifth since 2011. Garden City won the title two years ago.
Night softball camp set for first to sixth graders

DECATUR — New East Central Community College head softball coach Eric Neel has announced a new camp called Softball Kids Under the Lights that will be held on six Mondays in December and January.
The softball instruction is for those in grades 1-6 and will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 3 and Dec. 10, and Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2019.
The cost is $100 if paid by Nov. 25, or $25 for each individual session attended.
