Nanih Waiya picked up four more wins on the baseball diamond last week, improving to 11-1 on the season.
The Warriors hammered visiting McAdams in a pair of 27-0 district contests last Tuesday. On Friday, they scored five times in the top of the eighth inning and won a 9-4 decision over Kosciusko; and on Saturday, blanked homestanding Union 11-0.
Nanih Waiya was to host French Camp Academy Tuesday and then visit FCA on Thursday in a pair of district matchups this week.
Next week, the Warriors are slated to go to Ethel on Tuesday (April 3), host Ethel on Friday (April 6) and host Lake on Saturday (April 7).
Visiting McAdams was no match for the Warriors in a district sweep last Tuesday, as Nanih Waiya posted back-to-back, 27-0 victories.
In the opener, the Warriors took advantage of 15 walks and six errors by the visiting Bulldogs while also banging out nine base hits in the rout-shortened affair.
In the nightcap, winning pitcher Gabe Sciple struck out five of the six batters he faced and Nanih Waiya had seven hits while also taking advantage of 12 walks and four McAdams errors.
Friday at Kosciusko, the Warriors fell behind 2-0 early and were down 4-0 before they got on the board.
Nanih Waiya scored once in the fifth and three times in the sixth to tie the game, then pushed across five runs in the top of the eighth to topple the Whippets.
The Warriors banged out 16 hits in all and had seven different players with at least two hits. Jake Kight’s double and two singles led the way while Roper Ball had two hits, two runs, two stolen bases and two RBIs.
Ball was also the winning pitcher in relief.
On Saturday, Kight went the distance in a rout-shortened win at Union, striking out four while allowing three hits in five innings of work.
Nanih Waiya scored all the runs it needed in a four-run rally in the second inning before adding three runs in the third and four more in the fourth.
