The Nanih Waiya baseball team opened up the season with a pair of wins last week, beating Winona 8-5 and Choctaw Central 6-2.
Nanih Waiya is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Southeast Lauderdale. The Warriors will host Madison St. Joseph on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Warriors limited the Tigers to two hits and took a season-opening win on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya led 4-0 as they scored single runs in the first and third and two in the fourth. Winona cut into the deficit with three run-in the fifth and took a 5-4 lead with two runs in the sixth. Nanih Waiya then scored four runs in the top of the seventh to take the win.
The Warriors had nine hits in the contest as Shia Moore was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jake Kight was 2-for-4 with a double while Devean Turner had a double and drove in three runs. Coley Taylor singled, was hit by a pitch twice and scored twice while Tanner Luke also scored twice.
Kight got the start and pitched scoreless and hitless four innings as he walked three and struck out seven. Trevor Holdiness pitched 1.2 innings and gave up four runs on one hit and two walks. Gabe Sciple pitched the final inning and gave up one unearned run on three walks and a hit.

Choctaw Central 2
Choctaw Central led early but couldn’t hold off Nanih Waiya who won their second game of the season.
Choctaw scored single runs in the first and second innings before Nanih Waiya tied the game with two runs in the third. Nanih Waiya scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings and finished out with two runs in the sixth.
The Warriors had six hits n the contest but committed eight errors. Trevor Holdiness was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Tanner Luke had an RBI-triple while Tatum Luke also had an RBI double. Jake Kight had a double and scored a run.
Gabe Sciple got the start and pitched six innings to earn win, giving up two runs on one hit and five walks while striking out eight. Tanner Luke pitched the seventh and struck out two.
Lady Warriors set to visit French Camp Thursday
After a 10-0 loss to Eupora last week and a game with Noxapater being postponed this Monday, the Nanih Waiya softball team is looking to get back on the diamond.
The Lady Warriors were set to visit French Camp on Thursday, before traveling to Morton on Monday to take part in a spring break tournament.
Monday's tourney action begins with Morton and Scott Central facing off at 10 a.m., followed by Nanih Waiya and Scott Central at noon and the Lady Warriors and Morton at 2 p.m.
After that the next action for NW will be at home against Ethel on Tuesday, March 19.
