The Warriors feel behind early in game 3 of the series and dropped a 4-3 decision to end their season after the Lions took game 1 of the series 10-7 on Thursday.
The Warriors won game 2 of the series 6-5 on Friday to even the series. Nanih Waiya finishes the season with a 21-3 record.
Hamilton 4, Nanih Waiya 3
The Lions scored runs in the each of the first four innings and held off a late rally by the Warriors to take the one-run win.
Each team scored a run in the first while Hamilton added single runs in the second, third and fourth to lead 4-1. The Warriors scored two in the top of the seventh but the rally fell short.
Each team had six hits in the contest. Tatum Luke was 2-for-3 at the plate while Cody Clark was 2-for-2. Coley Taylor doubled and scored a run while Jake Knight singled and drove in a run. Shia Moore also had an RBI.
Gabe Sciple got the start and pitched four innings, giving up four runs on six hits and four walks the striking out two. Jake Kight pitched the last two innings in 13 pitches.
Nanih Waiya 6, Hamilton 5
With their season on the line, the Warriors scored six unanswered runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a come-from-behind win over the Lions on Friday to even the series.
Hamilton scored one run in the first and second innings and three in the fifth to go up 5-0.
In that sixth, Tanner Luke doubled to open the inning and Tylan Glass then singled to left to put runners at first and third. After Glass stole second, Tatum Luke doubled to right field to score Tanner Luke and Glass to cut the lead to 5-2. Tyler Higginbotham then reached on an infield single to score Tatum Luke to make the score 5-3. After an out, Coley Taylor doubled to score Higginbotham and make the score 5-4. Shia Moore then tripled to scored Taylor and tie the score at 5-5. Moore then scored on an error by the catcher to give the Warriors a 6-5 lead.
Nanih Waiya outhit Hamilton 9-8 as Tatum Luke was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs while Coley Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double. Tanner Luke was 2-for-2 with a double while Shia Moore also had a triple.
Tanner Luke started on the mound and pitched five innings, giving up five runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight. Tatum Luke pitched the last two innings and scattered four hits while striking out one to take the win.
Hamilton 10, Nanih Waiya 7
The Warriors gave up six unearned runs as Hamilton took a three-run win in game 1 of the series on Thursday.
Hamilton scored two runs in the second, third and fifth innings and four in the fourth. Nanih Waiya scored three in the third and four in the fourth
Each team had 11 hits but Nanih Waiya committed five errors.
Coley Taylor was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Shia Moore as 2-for-4. Cody Clark was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Jake Kight had a three-run home run. Trevor Holdiness, Tatum Luke and Donovan Turner each had singles and scored a run while Taylor Higginbotham scored two runs.
Kight pitched the first four innings for Nanih Waiya and gave up eight runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out four. Gabe Sciple pitched the last two innings and gave up two unearned runs on four hits while striking out two.
