CLINTON — The Mississippi/Alabama All Star Basketball Games as sponsored by the MAC and the AHSAA will tip off on Friday, at the A. E. Wood Coliseum, Mike Jones Court, on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton. The 28th annual girls’ game will tip off at 5 p.m. and the 28th annual boys’ game will begin at approximately 7 p.m.
The game features the top seniors from Mississippi and Alabama. Rosters for both squads are provided with this release along with the year-by-year history and statistics of the games. Mississippi leads the girls’ series by a 14-13 margin while Alabama leads the boys’ series 14-13. Mississippi won both games in 2017 in Montgomery, Ala. as the Mississippi girls squad defeated the Alabama girls by a tally of 93-86 and the Magnolia State boys team won over the Alabama boys squad by the score of 96-91.
The games will be produced and televised on live streaming on the FNUTL network (fnutl.com) and the MAC Network. Russ Robinson will call the play-by-play for both games. Hall of Fame and state championship Coach Gina Skelton of Wayne County will provide color commentary for the girl’s game. Tang Hamilton, the honorary game captain and former Lanier High and Mississippi State star, will provide color commentary for the boys’ tilt.
