After a rough start to the slow pitch season, the Lady Wildcats are in the win column. Louisville lost its first three games by a combined score of 39-1 with a loss to Eupora and two district defeats to Columbus, but the young Lady Cats finally found triumph.
Louisville got its first win of the season in a district victory over Starkville last Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats exploded at the plate in a 17-6 win. It was a hot start for Louisville as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and scored seven in the second inning to put the game far out of reach.
In the rematch at Starkville, the Lady Cats were in position once again to get the victory but a walk off hit gave Starkville the 17-16 victory.
Now 1-4 on the season and 1-3 in district play, Louisville will play another district team this week. They went up against Caledonia on Tuesday night on the road in a game that was completed after press time. They also travel to Raymond on Thursday for a contest to cap off the week.
