Eupora will be represented by both singles players and the mixed doubles team at the MHSAA individual tournament for the combined 1A and 2A. For East Webster, boys and girls singles players qualified.
Grant Frank in boys singles and Grace Burton in girls singles both were runner-up for Eupora in the Region 3 tournament at French Camp last week. The mixed doubles team of John Thomas Frank and Wesleigh Cummings won the region tournament.
Samuel Turner in boys singles and Melony Berryhill in girls singles both finished as runne-rup for East Webster in the Region 2 tournament at Tupelo.
The state tournament will be held May 8 and 9 at the FNC Tennis Center in Oxford. There will be competition in boys and girls singles, boys and girls doubles and mixed doubles, with the winner and runner-up in each category from the eight 1A and 2A regions.
John Thomas Frank and Cummings defeated Rachel Gray and Jason May of French Camp in the mixed doubles final. Grant Frank lost to Ben Skelton of French Camp in the boys singles final and Burton was beaten by two-time defending state champion Rachel VanHorn in the girls singles final.
