The Lady Wolverines of East Webster grabbed a big slow-pitch softball win as they beat rival Eupora 19-7.
On Monday, the Lady Wolverines lost 6-4 to Houston. East Webster scored three in the first and led 4-3 going into the seventh when Houston scored three runs to take the come-from-behind win. Peyton Flora was 2-for-4 with a double while Katelee Box and Hallie Beth Reed were each 2-for-3. Marlie Brewer was 3-for-3 with a double.
No stats were available for the Eupora win. No scores were provided for last week’s game with Hatley.
East Webster will return to action this week as they host New Hope on Monday and travel to Hatley on Tuesday. The Lady Wolverines will then host Hamilton on Thursday. East Webster will finish out the season with a Monday contest against Houston and then travel to New Hope on Tuesday, Oct. 1 to finish out the regular season.
Lady Eagles host Hatley Thursday
The Lady Eagles of Eupora dropped a pair of slow-pitchgames last week, falling to Neshoba Central 18-0 and East Webster 19-7.
The Lady Rockets scored five in the first, third and fourth innings and three in the second. Neshoba outhit Eupora 21-3. Patience Bingham had a double while Rylee Brooke Crowell and Mackenzie Reed-Wood each had singles.
In the loss to East Webster, the Lady Eagles had 13 hits. Haley McCrory was 3-for-4 with three singles while Addison Mason was 2-for-4. Rylee Brooke Crowell was 2-for-3 while Meleah Pogue and Patience Bingham each had singles. Haley Farley had a double while Ella Harrison was 2-for-2 with a pair of double.
Eupora was scheduled to return to action on Monday as they traveled to Calhoun City. On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles will host Hamilton and then host Hatley on Thursday in a pair of division games.
The lady Eagles will finish out the regular season next week as they travel to Hamilton on Monday and travel to Philadelphia in the regular-season finale on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The playoffs start on Saturday, Oct. 5.
