The East Webster Lady Wolverines won two of three contests this past week.
The Lady Wolverines started the week off with a 15-0 win over Houlka on Tuesday and then beat Bruce 12-8 on Thursday. They finished the week with an 11-1 loss to Amory on Friday.
East Webster is off for spring break an will return to action on Tuesday, March 19 when they host Vardaman. They will host Leflore County on Thursday, March 21 in a division doubleheader starting at 4:30 p.m.
East Webster 15, Houlka 0
The Lady Wolverines had 15 hits as they dominated Houlka in five innings.
Katelee Box led the Lady Wolverines, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three runs scored. Josie Reed was 3-for-4 with a double while Peyton Flora was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Coy Jennings and Lexi Crenshaw each scored three times. Curtlyn Blake, Marlie Brewer and Abby Williams each had RBI singles.
Liz Massey pitched five innings and gave up two hits while striking out 11.
East Webster 12, Bruce 8
The Lady Wolverines scored eight runs in the last three innings to take a four-run win over the Lady Trojans on Thursday.
Each team scored four runs in the first inning before Bruce scored one in the second and three in the third to take an 8-4 lead. East then scored three in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh.
East Webster had 12 hits in the contest as Lexi Crenshaw was 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Coy Jennings was 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Josie Reed was 2-for-4 with a double while Katelee Box was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Curtlyn Blake was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Whitney Winter had a double while Emma McKee scored two runs.
Liz Massey pitched all seven innings for East Webster, giving up eight runs with only two being earned on seven hits and seven walks while striking out nine.
Amory 11, East Webster 1
Amory scored seven runs in the top of the first inning and ended up taking a five-inning run-rule win over the Lady Wolverines on Friday.
East Webster scored its only run in the third inning.
East Webster had only one hit, a single by Peyton Flora in the third. She scored on a groundout by Lexi Crenshaw.
Abby Williams got the start and pitched all five innings, giving up 11 runs with only four being earned on 11 hits while striking out two and walking one.
