Teams rarely learn anything from blowout wins, but gain more from tough losses.
If that’s the case, the East Webster Lady Wolverines got plenty of learning in this week.The Lady Wolverines lost two of three contests, falling 31-29 to Northside before beating J.Z. George 46-14 on Friday. The Lady Wolverines lost another two-point game on Saturday, falling to Choctaw County 47-45.
“We didn’t play very well on Tuesday,” Ginn said. “I know it’s a long bus ride but that’s no excuse. We didn’t play well at all. I thought we came back and played better on Friday and Saturday. We had our chances against Choctaw County on Saturday. We had a shot to win or tie and couldn’t get it to go down. It was a good game.
East Webster will return to action on Monday as they travel to Oak Hill Academy in West Point and will host Leflore County on Friday to finish Division 2-2A play.
The Lady Wolverines are now 14-8 overall and 2-2 in 2-2A play.

The Lady Wolverines struggled on offense as the Lady Gators pulled out a two-point win on Tuesday.
Northside led 8-6 at the end of the first and 12-11 at the half. The Lady Gators outscored the Lady Wolverines 9-6 in the third to take a 21-17 lead not the fourth. East outscored Northside 12-10 but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Whitney Winter led East Webster with 16 points while Kadasha Bryant had five points and Mariah Bell had four points.

The Lady Wolverines responded from Tuesday’s loss with a blowout win on Friday night.
East Webster led just 9-8 at the end of the first before outscoring J.Z. Georg 16-4 in the second ad 15-2 in the third to lead 40-14 going into the fourth.
Whitney Winter led East Webster with nine points while Kadasha Bryant and Isha Patterson each had seven points apiece. Shan Culpepper also had six points.

East Webster led for most of the contest before surrendering the lead in the fourth as the Lady Chargers took a two-point win on Saturday at the Mid-Mississippi Challenge.
East Webster led 16-13 at the end of the first and 23-22 at the half. The Lady Wolverines outscored the Lady Chargers 14-9 in the third to lead 37-31 going into the fourth. Choctaw County used a 16-9 advantage in the fourth to take the win.
Mariah Bell led East Webster with 15 points while Whitney Winter had nine points. Kadasha Bryant had six points while Isha Patterson added five points.
