The French Camp softball team split two games last week, a 16-0 win over West Lowndes in a game that only lasted three innings and a 12-2 loss to Noxapater.
“Our pitching was great in both games,” said coach Sarah Skidmore. “Versus Noxapater, we made a lot of critical errors in the field that cost us the game. We have to be able to capitalize on runners being on bases and get hits to gain runs.”
Haleigh Outlaw was two for two in both games for French Camp. Against West Lowndes she had two doubles, drove in one run and scored twice. She scored once in the Noxapater game.
Brianna Grice was three for three against West Lowndes with a single and two triples, an RBI and three runs scored. Abby Leathers was two for two with a single and a triple, scored two runs and drove in two. Brookelyn Box pitched two innings, allowing two hits with five strikeouts and Grice had a one-two-three inning, with one strikeout.
Kalee McDaniel, an eighth grader, and Lucy Scott had the Lady Chargers' other two hits against Noxapater.
The Lady Panthers played Ethel Tuesday, have a home game with Louisville Thursday and a home doubleheader against Ray Brooks Friday.
