Eupora’s two-day trip to Oxford wasn’t very kind to the Lady Eagles.
Eupora lost four games in Oxford this past weekend after opening the season with a pair of wins.
Eupora opened the season with a 10-0 win over Nanih Waiya and then hammered Louisville 18-1.
In Oxford, Eupora lost 14-7 to West Union and 7-1 to Lewisburg on Friday. On Saturday, Eupora lost 11-2 to Pontotoc and 9-2 to Mooreville.
“Last year we went to Oxford and won four games,” Hunt said. “We played four really good teams. It was a long weekend but you can’t let it beat you up too bad. It was a tough stretch of games against some good team. It’s no fun getting beat four times. We just have to understand that there is a bigger picture.”
Eupora will return to action this week as they are scheduled to travel to Ethel on Monday and then to South Pontotoc on Thursday.

The Lady Eagles opened the season with a run-rule win over the Lady Warriors on Monday.
Eupora scored one in the first and sixth, two in the third and three in the fifth and seventh.
Eupora had eight hits as Haley Farley was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Maleah Pogue had a double, scored two runs and walked twice. Addison Mason scored two runs while Ally Bingham had two RBIs.
Pogue got the start on the mound and pitched all six innings, giving up just one hit and four walks while striking out two.
Eupora won its other game in Winston County last week as they beat Louisville 18-1.
West Union 14,
Eupora 7
West Union scored 13 runs in the first two innings and took a seven-run win in four innings.
Eupora scored three in the first and four in the third and had six hits in the contest. Haylee McCrory was 2-for-3 on the day while Rylee Brooke Crowell had a double and drove in three runs. Kylie Richardson also had an RBI single.
Lewisburg 7,

Lewisburg used a pair of three-run innings to take a six-run win over the Lady Eagles on Friday at Oxford.
Lewisburg scored three in the first and fourth innings. Eupora scored its one run in the fourth.
Haley Farley land Kylie Richardson were each 2-for-3 at the late for Eupora while Rylee Brooke Crowell singles and scored. Patience Bingham singles and drove in a run.
Maleigh Pogue pitched all four innings and gave up seven runs on eight hits.
Pontotoc 11,
Eupora 2
The game was tight before Pontotoc scored eight runs in the sixth inning on Saturday.
Pontotoc outhit Eupora 16-7.
Alley Reed was 2-for-2 while Maleah Pogue was 2-for-3. Bri Davidson, Haley Farley and Addison Mason each had singles for Eupora.
In their other game on Saturday, the Lady Eagles lost 9-2 to Mooreville.
