The Eupora Lady Eagles won two out of three contests this past week, including two big Division 2-2A contests.
After a hard-fought 5-1 loss to undefeated Houston on Monday, the Lady Eagles bounced back with an 11-0 win over Bruce on Tuesday and a 9-6 win over Calhoun City on Thursday.
Eupora, now 2-0 in Division 2-2A play, will return to action this week as they travel to Calhoun City on Monday. On Tuesday, the Lady Eagles will host Louisville and finish up the week on Thursday with a key 2-2A contest at East Webster.
Eupora 9, Calhoun City 6
The Lady Eagles took advantage of eight errors by the Lady Wildcats to take a three-run win over the Lady Wildcats on Thursday.
After each team scored one run in the first inning, Eupora scored one in the second, four in the third and two in the fourth. Calhoun made it close with three in the fifth and two in the sixth while the Lady Eagles added one in the bottom of the sixth.
Eupora had nine hits in the contest as Kylie Richardson was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Alley Reed was 2-for-4 and scored two runs. Rylee Brook Crowell and Patience Bingham were each 2-for-3 and drove in a run while Haley Farley scored two runs.
Meleah Pogue got the start and pitched five innings, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks. Harper Doggett pitched two innings and gave up one run on four hits while striking out two.
Eupora 11, Bruce 0
The Lady Eagles scored nine runs in the first inning and allowed just three hits as they took a run-rule win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday.
Eupora added single runs in the third and fourth innings.
The Eagles had nine hits on the day as Alley Reed was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Haley Farley was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored with one RBI while Kylie Richardson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Haylee McCrory, Bri Davidson and Meleah Pogue each singled, scored a run and had an RBI.
Harper Doggett pitched five innings and gave up three runs and struck out two to pick up the win.
Houston 5, Eupora 1
The Lady Hilltoppers scored all of their runs in the first two innings to take a four-run win over the Lady Eagles on Monday.
Eupora scored its one run in the seventh. Houston stayed unbeaten as they scored three in the first and two in the second.
Eupora had one hit as Kylie Richardson singled and scored the Lady Eagles only run.
Harper Doggett got the start and took the loss, giving up just four hits and three walks.
