It took a while for Eupora to finally take the field in fast-pitch softball but the Lady Eagles made it count.
Eupora won all three games it played last week, opening with a 2-1 win over Class 6A Olive Branch on Friday. The Lady Eagles followed that with a 2-0 win over Class 5A Oxford and a 4-3 win over Class 3A Mooreville.
Eupora is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when it host Starkville and will travel to Louisville on Friday.

Olive Branch 1
The Lady Eagles scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning and took a one-run win over Olive Branch on Friday in the season opener.
Eupora had just four hits in the contest, led by Maleah Pogue who was 2-for-2. Haley Farley had a double and scored a run. Jameela Marshall scored Eupora’s other run while Annslie Steadnan had the team’s only RBI. Rylee Crowell also had a hit for Eupora.
Pogue was solid on the mound for Eupora, pitching all five innings to pick up the win as she scattered six hits and gave up on run while striking out three and walking one.

Oxford 0
The Lady Eagles allowed just one hit as they took a time-limit win over Class 5A Oxford.
Eupora scored one run in the first and fourth innings on three hits.
Savannah Kilpatrick had a single and scored a run while Delta Newman had a single and drove in a run. Addison Mason scored a run while Haley McCrory had Eupora’s other hit.
Delta Newman was dominant on the mound for Eupora, pitching all four innings, giving up one hit and striking out three while walking three.

Mooreville 3
The Lady Eagles got a big blast from Maleah Pogue as they took a one-run, time-limit win over 3A power Mooreville on Saturday.
Mooreville scored two runs in the top of the second before Eupora responded with one run in the bottom of the second and three runs in the bottom of the third. Mooreville scored its other run in the top of the fourth.
Allie Reed and Delta Newman each had singles and drove in runs while Savannah Kilpatrick had a double and scored a run. Pogue also had a walk and scored two runs while Jameela Marshall also had a single.
Newman picked up the win on the mound as she pitched all four innings, giving up three runs on six hits while striking out one and walking two.
