The Eupora Lady Eagles only got in one game last week as they lost a 13-4 contest to South Pontotoc.
Eupora’s other schedule game against Ethel was cancelled because of rain.
Eupora is scheduled to host a two-day Spring Break tournament on Friday and Saturday. Currently, only Choctaw County is listed to play but coach Amir Hunt said he is searching for more teams to play. No times were set as of Monday’s press deadline.
After spring break, Eupora will return to action as they travel to Houston on Monday, March 18. On Tuesday, Eupora will host Bruce to open Division 2-2A play and then host Calhoun City on Thursday, March 21.
South Pontotoc 13, Eupora 4
The Lady Eagles had just five hits and committed nine errors as they lost by nine to the Lady Cougars on Thursday.
Eupora scored one in the first and third and two in the fourth. South Pontotoc scored two in the second and six in the third. South added one in the fourth and four in the fifth.
Eupora had just five hits in the contest, led by Kylie Richardson who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Alley Reed had a single, scored a run and drove in two runs. Addison Mason singled and scored a run while Patience Bingham and haley Farley also scored runs. Meleah Pogue also had a single.
Pogue got the start on the mound and pitched 4 2/3 innings and gave up 13 runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out three. Only four of the runs were earned.
