Choctaw County softball coach Lance Thomas was pleased with his team's performance in a season opening 6-2 loss to Eupora. “We played a really good, experienced team,” he said, pointing out that the Lady Chargers had only three seniors.
“Allie Brown and Lizzie Thomas had some quality at bats,” Thomas said, and he praised the play of two of his youngest players, eighth grade shortstop Kaylee Goodin and seventh grade third baseman Haley Miller.
The Lady Chargers managed five hits by five players.
Choctaw County will play at Starkville Thursday and has games Saturday at Kosciusko against Kosciusko and Ethel
