Former Choctaw County High School standout Eric Jones pitched six innings of two-hit ball for Holmes Community College to pick up the win in a 5-1 victory over Blue Mountain to move his season record to 2-0. He struck out seven and walked one without allowing an earned run. He also drove in a pair of runs against Williams Baptist earlier in the week.
The Holmes Community College Bulldogs stretched their baseball winning streak to seven games with a trio of doubleheaders sweeps last week.
Holmes beat Williams Baptist College 14-4 and 10-1 on March 4, rolled past Blue Mountain College 5-1 and 11-3 on March 6, and took a pair of thrillers over Nunez Community College 3-2 and 8-7 on Sunday.
Austin Telano, also a CCHS graduate, had an RBI against Nunez.
The Bulldogs, now 15-1 on the season, were set to host East Central Community College in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., before visiting Jones College for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday.
