Grace Christian improved to 7-2 with two one sided baseball wins last week. The Eagles defeated New Summit from Jackson 18-2 and Columbus Christian 19-9.
Grant Bontrager, Brandon Mast and Justin Mast all went three for three against New Summit. Bontrager had a single, double and homer, drove in seven runs and scored three. Brandon Mast singled, doubled and tripled, with an RBI and three runs scored. Justin Mast had two singles and a double with two RBIs. Clay Crowder and Alex Taylor both scored three times.
The Eagles trailed Columbus Christian 5-1 after one inning, then scored 10 runs in the second. Taylor led the team with a double, two singles, four RBIs and four runs scored. Bontrager singled twice, scored three runs and drove in three. Wes Agnew reached base five times with a triple, three walks and an error. He scored two runs and drove home two.
Taylor picked up the win with 4.2 innings of relief. He allowed two earned runs on four hits, with six strikeouts.
The win against Columbus Christian avenged an earlier 11-10 loss in eight innings.
The Eagles played Jackson Home School Tuesday. They have home games Thursday and Friday against Hebron Christian and Discovery Christian.
