The Grace Christian boys basketball team split two games last week with a 63-53 with over Scott County Home School and a 49-46 loss to Victory Christian Academy.
“We came out very sharp offensively in the first half of both games,” said coach Jason Morgan. “Defense down the stretch has to get better though. We have to guard much tougher as we close out games.”
Sophomores Jacob Phillips led the Eagles with 23 points and 10 rebounds against Scott County and 23 and nine against Victory Christian. Sophomore Bonner Brownlee totaled 31 points and 17 rebounds in the two games and senior Miah Ballard had 13 points and five assists against Scott County.
Foul trouble resulted in a 49-39 loss to Victory Christian for the Grace Christian girls, with two players fouling out. “It was a tough loss,” said coach Talor Troyer. “We fought hard, but foul trouble really killed us.”
