Former Louisville High School basketball standout Diamond Wraggs was one of three East Central Community College sophomores to recently sign college scholarships
Wraggs, who averaged eight points and five rebounds a game for the Lady Warriors this past season, signed with Mississippi Valley State. Also signing were Breanna Riley with Rust College and Sharan Turner with Dillard University in New Orleans.
The trio helped the Lady Warriors to an 18-6 record and a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Tournament.
Wraggs was one of only two Lady Warriors to start all 24 games and was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Honorable Mention All-State. The Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils compete in the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Riley, who prepped at Biloxi High School, averaged eight points and two assists per game for the Lady Warriors this past season. The Rust College Bearcats compete in the NAIA Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
Turner, who prepped at East Ascension High School in Gonzales, La., averaged 10 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She led the Lady Warriors with 31 blocks. Turner was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Honorable Mention All-State. The Dillard University Blue Devils compete in the NAIA Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
