A total of five Winston Academy basketball players have been recognized as members of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools’ All-District 2-AAA team.
Senior Collin Willis and junior Collin Mills made the squad from the Winston boys’ team, while the junior trio of Lilly Sisson, Bailey Wood and Madelyn Bright were each all-district performers for the girls’ team.
Winston’s girls finished the year with a 13-18 record after bowing out in the quarterfinals of the MAIS Class AAA North State Tournament last week. The Winston boys wound up 8-22 after their season came to an end in the district tournament the previous week.
Sisson, Wood and Bright were the top three scorers on a balanced attack for coach Moe Reed on their way to all-district honors.

Mills led the Patriots in scoring per game with 11.4 and his 38 steals ranked third on the team. Willis averaged 8.8 points per game and a team-high 8.8 rebounds per game and also led the Patriots with 35 blocked shots this season.
In last week’s North State Tournament action, Winston’s girls fell to the host team and District 1-AAA runner-up at North Delta, 55-37.
Sisson scored 13 points in that loss, while Wood added 11 points and Taylor Krajewski chipped in six.
