It was Mother Nature 3, French Camp softball 0 last week. Three season opening games were rained out and have been rescheduled as doubleheaders.
As a result, the Lady Panthers will be play twin bills at Louisville Thursday, at Winona March 8 and at J.Z. George March 22. The season began against Sebastopol Tuesday.
Because of all the rain, the team was not able to get outside due to condition of the field. “One day I went out there I had on rubber boots and the water in spots came up to my ankles,” said coach Todd Chesser.
He has been conducting practices in the gym. “We were finally able to get in the batting cage for an hour Friday. We had to swap out with the baseball team. One day we were in the batting cage when they were in the gym, then we swapped.”
BASEBALL
Rain washed two scheduled games between French Camp and Winona last week. Panthers' coach Nathan Wright said they probably will not be rescheduled.
French Camp has a home game with Winona Christian Friday, will play at Winston Academy Saturday and at East Webster Monday,
