WINONA – Ali Azlin was the only athlete from East Webster to qualify for the MHSAA 2A state track meet. Nobody from Eupora qualified for the state meet.
Azlin, a freshman, finished third in the girls 3200 with a time of 13:20 and fourth in the 1600 (6:27) at the North State meet last Saturday at Winona. The top four in each event qualified for the state meet to be held Friday at Pearl High School.
Also participating in the North State girls meet for East Webster were Kadasha Bryant, sixth in the 200; the 800 relay team, fifth; and the 400 relay team, sixth. Bryant was joined on both teams by Aaliah Anderson, Mikeyia Strong and Annie Gibson.
The only East Webster participant in the boys meet was James Belk, who was eighth in the 3200.
For Eupora, Parker Blaylock was sixth in the boys shot put, Dylan Patrick seventh in the shot put, Makyrus Potts eighth in the long jump and the 400 relay team finished eighth.
Eupora did not have any representatives at the girls North State meet.
In team standings, East Webster was 12th at the girls meet and 18th for the boys. Eupora's boys finished in 15th place. The host team from Winona won both meets.
