Eupora finished sixth and East Webster ninth at the Region 1-2A boys track meet last Saturday at Winona High School. In girls competition, East Webster was sixth. Eupora did not have any entrants.
The best individual performance was by East Webster freshman Ami Azlin, who was second in the girls 1600 in 6:24 and 3200 (13:28).
Other East Webster girls who qualified for the North State meet by finishing in the top four were Kadasha Bryant, second in the 200; the 800 relay team, second, and the 400 relay team, fourth.
Bryant was joined on both relay teams by Aalish Anderson, Mikeyia Strong and Annie Gibson.
In the boys meet, Eupora had three individuals and two relays qualify for North State. Dylan Patrick was second in the shot put, Makyrus Potts third in the long jump and Parker Blaylock fourth in the shot put. Two days after qualifying for the North State meet, Blaylock was on the victory stand at the state powerlifting meet with a third place finish in the super heavyweight weight class.
Eupora's 400 relay team of Edwin Herard, Camron Culpepper, Daniel Brown and Duante Watson and the 800 relay team with Daniel Brown, Zak Morris, Travon McMillian and Darius Brown both finished fourth.
Jams Belk was the only East Webster boy to qualify with a fourth place finish in the 3200.
Winona won the boys and girls meets. The North State meet will be Saturday at Winona.
