WINONA – It’s on to the Region 1-2A track meet for five boys, two girls and five relay teams from East Webster and one girl, one boy and one relay team from Eupora.
They qualified by finishing in the top four in events at the Division 2-2A meet at Winona High School. The region meet will be Friday at Potts Camp.
East Webster had four first place finishers at the division meet. Sophomore Ali Azlin won the girls 1600 in 6:07.8 and the 3200 (14:03), Carter Flora, an eighth grader, won the boys 300 hurdles in 51.09 and the girls 400 relay team took first with a time of 54.66.
Other East Webster qualifiers for the boys region meet are junior Cameron Jennings, third in the shot put (35-7½); freshman Jontavis Cunningham, fourth in the 200 (24.22); junior James Belk, fourth in the 3200 (15:38); junior Conner Shurden, fourth in the high jump (5-8); and the 800 relay team with a fourth place finish in 1:44.31.
All four East Webster girls relay teams qualified. The 400 team was first in 54.66, 800 second (1:54.40), 1600 third (5:50) and 3200 third (13:02.31). Senior Carley Doss also qualified with second in the discus (70-1).
Eupora had two winners, both coming in the shot put. Junior Parker Blaylock was the boys winner with a throw of 38-7 and senior Nadia Robinson won the girls event at 31-2.
Blaylock and Robinson were the only individual qualifiers for Eupora, but the boys 400 relay team qualified by finishing fourth (48.21).
