It wasn’t the end to the regular season that Eupora coach Danya Turner was looking for as both of his teams dropped a pair of games last week.
The Eagles lost a pair of shootouts as they fell 80-66 to Choctaw County and 69-66 to Kosciusko. The Lady Eagles fell 46-17 to Choctaw County and 46-40 to Kosciusko.
The Eagles enter the Division 2-2A tournament as the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seed Calhoun City on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. If the Eagles win on Tuesday night, they will qualify for the playoffs and take on No. 1 seed East Webster at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The Lady Eagles also enter the 2-2A tournament as the No. 4 seed and will take on Leflore County at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. If the Lady Eagles win, they will take on No. 1 seed Calhoun City on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Choctaw County boys 80,
Eupora 66
Choctaw County took the early lead and was able to hold off the Eagles for a 14-point win.
Choctaw County jumped out to a 19-9 lead in the first period and led the Eagles 42-30 at the half. The Chargers were able to maintain that lead as they outscored the Eagles 16-12 in the third while Eupora took the fourth period 24-20.
Makaylon Patterson led the Eagles with 20 points while Jarren Patterson and D.J. Patterson each had 15 points apiece. Al Dumas chipped in 10 points for the Eagles.
Choctaw County girls 46,

Choctaw County exploded in the second period to take a 29-point win over the Lady Eagles.
Choctaw County held a slim 10-8 lead at the end of the first before outscoring the Lady Eagles 23-4 in the second to lead 33-12 at the half. Choctaw kept the score down in the second half, outscoring Eupora 8-4 in the third and 5-1 in the fourth.
Princess Carr led Eupora with six points while Kyla Patterson had five points.
Kosciusko boys 69,
Eupora 66
The Eagles built a seven-point first-half lead but were unable to hold on as the Whippets to a three-point win on Senior night.
Kosciusko led 19-17 at the end of the first while Eupora took the lead in the second by outscoring the Whippets 21-12 to take a 38-31 lead at the half. Kosciusko cut into the lead in the third period, outscoring Eupora 16-12 in the third. The Whippets completed the comeback in the fourth, outscoring the Eagles 22-16 in the fourth to take the win.
Jarren Patterson led Eupora with 21 points while Makaylon Patterson and D.J. Patterson each had 14 points apiece. Donovan Turner also chipped in eight points.
Kosciusko girls 47,
Eupora 40
The Lady Whippets jumped out to a nine-point lead in the first period and were able to hold that advantage to take a seven-point win on Friday night.
Kosciusko jumped out to a 15-6 lead and led 26-16 at the half. The Lady Whippets built the lead to 10-8 in the third before Eupora made it close in the fourth with a 16-11 advantage.
Jasmine Gary led Eupora with 10 points while Korianna McKinney, Jasmine Conely and Ta’Kiyah Townsend each scored six points apiece.
