The Lady Wolverines followed up a run-rule loss to multi-year defending state championship Neshoba Central, by taking wins over Vardaman (6-2) and South Pontotoc (10-0).
On Monday, Neshoba needed all seven innings to take a 10-run win over the Lady Wolverines. Neshoba only outhit East Webster 12-7 but took advantage of seven walks in the process. No player had multiple hits for East Webster as Peyton Flora walked and scored the team’s only run on an RBI single by Marlie Brewer.
Against Vardaman on Tuesday, the Lady Wolverines took a 6-2 win over the Lady Rams. East Webster had eight hits in the contest as Abby Williams was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and two runs scored. Emma Jennings was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles while Whitney Winter drove in two runs. Katelee Box also scored two runs for the Lady Wolverines. Box also pitched all seven innings, scattering six hits and giving up two unearned runs to pick up the win.
In their other contest last week, East Webster beat South Pontotoc 10-0. No stats were available for that contest.
East Webster will return to action this week against the same three schools they played last week. They were scheduled to play at Neshoba Central on Monday, host South Pontotoc on Tuesday and host Vardaman on Thursday.
