After an 11-2 season, the East Webster Wolverines had a host of players honored in the Region 2-2A awards.
Steven Betts was named the Division 2-2A Offensive Player of the Year after guiding the Wolverines to the third round of the Class 2A playoffs. Betts finished the season with 207 rushes for 1,614 yards and 18 TDs. Betts threw for 1,024 yards on 63-of-147 passing and 14 TDs. That gave Betts 2,638 yards of total offense and 32 TDs.
There were eight players named to the Division 2-2A Super 25. Three East Webster linemen made the unit as Cohen Clark, Kaleb Parish and Caleb Massey were each named along with wide receiver Gray McCarter. On defense, Camron Jennings was named as a defensive lineman while Ethan Roberts was named as a linebacker. Daniel Rogers was named as a cornerback while Parker Burleson was named as a punter/kicker.
On the first team for East Webster was four defensive players in linebacker Kobe Smith, defensive lineman Sedrick Taylor, safety Luke McKee and linebacker Conner Shurden. Tyrik Pittman, who finished with 931 yards on 129 carries was named as a running back while offensive lineman Preston Hill was named to the squad.
Making the honorable mention for East Webster was Carter Flora at safety, Isaac Jones at linebacker, Debo Patterson at wide receiver and Hastings Gipson at offensive tackle.
EUPORA
The Eagles, who finished third in 2-2A and made the second round of the playoffs,, had five players make the Super 25.
Quarterback Cade Adkins was named to the Super 25 along with wide receiver Tyjuan Hughes. On defense, Zak Morris was named at free safety while M.J. Thomas was named at defensive end. De-Unte Watson rounded out the squad at inside linebacker.
Making the first team for Eupora was Sammie Bowie at nose guard, Darius Brown at corner back, Kimble Dillinger at placekicker/punter, Travon McMillian at running back and Ty Murphy at free safety.
Named as honorable mention was Payton Collums at defensive tackle and Landon Davis at outside linebacker.
