The Eupora Eagles split a pair of Baseball games over the spring break, opening the week with an 8-1 win over Louisville on Monday and then losing a 7-6 decision to Caledonia on Wednesday.
Eupora was set to host French Camp Monday. The Eagles will continue in Division 2-2A play as they host Calhoun City on Tuesday and will travel to Calhoun City on Friday.
Eupora 8, Louisville 1
The Eagles took advantage of five walks and seven hit batters and took a seven-run win over the Wildcats on Monday.
Eupora scored three in the first inning and then added five in the fifth inning.
Eupora had four hits as Parker Knight doubled and drove in a run while Ty Murphy singled and drove in two runs. Carter May walked and scored two runs while Jacob Collum and Tanner Fletcher each had two RBIs. Landon Davis and Reed Hale each singled and scored a run. Cade Adkins was hit by a pitch twice while Carter May stole three bases. Landon Davis and Ty Murphy also had two stolen bases apiece.
Reed Hale pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up one run on one hit and five walks while striking out nine. Chris Robinson pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up two hits and struck out one.
Caledonia 7, Eupora 6
The Eagles lost a rain-shortened contest against the Confederates on Wednesday.
Caledonia scored four in the first inning before Eupora scored one in the second and three in the top of the third to take a 5-4 lead. Caledonia then scored one in the third and Eupora answered with one in the fourth. Caledonia then took the lead back with two in the fourth and won the game in 4 1/2 innings.
Eupora had just three hits in the contest as Ty Murphy tripled, scored a run and had an RBI. Parker Knight doubled and scored a run while Landon Davis had Eupora’s other hit with a single and scored a run. Drew Tabb also had an RBI while Carter May and Cade Adkins also scored runs.
May got the start on the mound and pitched one inning, giving up four unearned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out two. Cade Adkins pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on three hits and three walks while Tanner Fletcher pitched the last 1/3 of an inning.
