The Eupora baseball team traveled to the Golden Triangle last week and came away with one win in three contests
The Eagles dropped a pair of 6-3 contests, falling to Indianola Academy on Monday and Pillow Academy on Tuesday. They then beat Heritage Academy 12-3 in their last game on Tuesday.
Eupora is scheduled to play French Camp on Monday before beginning Division 2-2A play on Tuesday at Calhoun City. They will then host Calhoun City on Friday and then travel to Vardaman on Saturday.
Indianola Academy 6, Eupora 3
The Eagles managed only two hits as they lost a three-run game to Indianola Academy on Monday.
Eupora led early as they scored one run in the first and second innings. But Indianola responded with one in the third, two in the fourth and three in the sixth for the final margin. Eupora scored its last run in the fifth.
Brett May had one of Eupora’s two hits, a solo home run. Al Dumas had a single and drove in Ash Dumas who had reached on a walk.
The Eagles used four pitchers in the contest as Tanner Knight got the start and pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up just one hit and striking out one.
Brett May pitched 1 1/3 innings and struck out four while giving up one run. Carter May pitched 2/3 of an inning and gave up two runs on two hits. Al Dumas pitched 2 2/3 innings and gave up three runs on three hits while striking out five.
Pillow Academy 6, Eupora 3
Pillow scored three runs in the fourth inning and held on to take a three-run win in a six-inning contest on Tuesday morning.
Pillow struck first with two in the second before Eupora answered with two in the third. Pillow answered with three in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. Both teams scored one in the sixth for the final margin.
Eupora had six hits in the contest. Tanner Knight had a double and drove in a run while Al Dumas, Jacob Collumn and Ash Dumas had singles and scored a run. Cade Adkins and Ian Garrard also had singles.
Brett May got the start and pitched two innings, giving up two runs on four hits while striking out three and walking three. Cade Adkins pitched four innings and gave up four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out five.
Eupora 12, Heritage 3
The Eagles took advantage of eight walks as they used a seven-run sixth inning to take a nine-run win over Heritage Academy on Tuesday.
Eupora scored two in the first and second inning to lead 4-1. Leading 5-2 after five innings, Eupora scored seven in the sixth to take the win.
Eupora had seven hits in the contest as Brett May led the way, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Tanner Knight was 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Al Dumas was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored. Ian Garrard drove in two runs while Ash Dumas, Parker Knight and Dustin Cabaniss each waled twice and scored a run.
Tanner Knight got the start and pitched a complete game as he gave up three runs on four hits and struck out 10 while walking just two.
