The Nanih Waiya Warriors added three more wins to their total this past week, including a pair of division wins over French Camp.
The Warriors swept the Panthers, winning 16-3 and 9-2 and then finished off the week with a 6-4 win over Pisgah on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya, now 9-1, faces a key division series with Ethel this week. The Warriors will host the Tigers on Tuesday and play at Ethel on Friday. On Saturday, the Warriors will travel to Lake for a 1 p.m. contest.
Nanih Waiya 16, French Camp 3
The Warriors used a pair of big innings as they took a 13-run win over the Panthers on Tuesday.
Nanih Waiya scored five in the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth before scoring eight in the seventh. French Camp scored two in the third and one in the fifth.
The Warriors had 17 hits in the contest, led by Jake Kight who was 3-for-5 with a double and grand slam home run with four RBIs. Coley Taylor was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs while Tatum Luke was 3-for-5 with three doubles and two RBIs. Donovan Turner was 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs while Tanner Luke was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Tylan Glass was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Devean Turner doubled and scored three runs. Trevor Holdiness also had two RBIs.
Kight started on the mound and picked up the win, pitching 4 2/3 innings as he gave up three runs on six hits and seven walks while striking out nine. Luke pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up two hits and two walks while striking out three.
Nanih Waiya 9, French Camp 2
The Warriors jumped out to a 7-0 lead and cruised to a win over the Panthers on Friday to sweep the season series.
Nanih Waiya scored one in the first and six in the second while each team scored two in the fifth.
Nanih Waiya had 11 hits in the contest as Shia Moore was 3-for-3 with two triples and four RBIs. Donovan Turner was 2-for-2 with two runs scored while Devean Turner was 2-for-3. Jake Kight doubled and drove in two runs while Coley Taylor doubled and scored two runs.
Tanner Luke started on the mound and pitched five innings and gave up two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out five. Moore pitched the last two inning, allowing just one walk while striking out one.
Nanih Waiya 6, Pisgah 4
The Warriors held off a late rally by the Dragons to take a two-run win on Saturday.
Nanih Waiya scored two in the third and led 3-1 after six innings before each team scored three runs in the seventh.
Nanih Waiya had nine hits in the contest, led by Shia Moore who was 3-for-4 while Tanner Luke was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Tylan Glass was 2-for-4 while Donovan Turner singled and drove in a run. Jake Kight walked twice while Coley Taylor scored two runs.
Gabe Sciple pitched six innings and gave up three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out 10 to pick up the win. Tylan Glass go the last three outs, and allowed one unearned run on two walks.
