There will be one SEC football game televised on CBS on Saturday, one on ESPN, and three on the SEC Network in an abbreviated schedule this week, with four of the league’s teams taking the week off.
The day opens at 11 a.m. on the SEC Network with the Aggies of Texas A&m playing host to Mississippi State. The 3 pm. Game on the network has Tennessee hosting South Carolina, while Missouri travels to Kentucky for the 6:30 p.m. game.
The 2:30 p.m. CBS game is a good one, featuring No. 2-ranked LSU hosting No. 9 Auburn. The 6 p.m. ESPN games has top-ranked Alabama playing host to Arkansas.

BIG 3 STRUGGLES
Ole Miss (3-5) lost a winnable game on Saturday, falling 24-17 to visiting Texas A&M. The Rebels’ offense sputtered, but the OM defense shined against Texas A&M. The open week is much needed in Oxford.
MSU (3-4) lost to a super LSU team and gifted quarterback Joe Burrow by the score of 36-13 in Starkville. This Saturday at 11 a.m. a trip to College Station is on the agenda. Southern Mississippi (4-3) lost the turnover game and the game to La. Tech, 45-30. Next is a trip to winless Rice in Houston this Saturday.

BRADLEY LEADS UL RECEIVERS
Former Choctaw County standout Ja’Marcus Bradley hauled down a game-high six passes for 72 yards as the University of Louisiana took a 37-20 Sun Belt Conference win over Arkansas State last week. The Ragin’ Cajuns are off this week before entertaining Texas State for Homecoming on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m.
For the season Bradley has recorded a team-high 29 receptions for 439 yards and four touchdowns.

JSU WINS IN OT
Jackson State (2-5) needed overtime to overcome Mississippi Valley, 31-28, while Delta State (4-3) held of West Alabama, 14-7. Millsaps (4-3) and Belhaven (2-6) both fell while Alcorn and Mississippi College had the week off. Jackson State will be on ESPNU this Thursday night (6:30 p.m.) against Prairie View.

LIONS TAKE 55-20 WIN
The 17th-ranked Lions of East Mississippi Community College snapped a two-game losing skid by claiming a 55-20 MACJC North Division victory over homestanding Coahoma Community College last Thursday..
Coach Buddy Stephens’ 5-3 EMCC Lions, 3-2 in MACJC North Division play, will close out their 2019 regular-season slate by playing host to the Tigers of Northeast Mississippi Community College on Saturday, during homecoming weekend on the Scooba campus. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at EMCC’s Sullivan-Windham Field.

SCOTT ENTERS TRANSFER PORTAL
Mississippi State junior guard Bre’Amber Scott has reportedly entered the transfer portal. She remains on the official MSU women’s basketball roster at this point.
Entering the portal simply lets other schools know that she is considering transferring and has reopened her recruitment. It allows interested schools to officially make contact with here.
Scott, a 5-foot-11 long-range shooter from Little Rock, Ark., has played 58 games in her two seasons at MSU, including 35 last year when she averaged 7.1 points per game. As a sophomore she made 27-of-63 from 3-point ranger for a .429 shooting percentage and scored 21 points against the University of Louisiana. She went 8-for-8 from the free throw line and scored 18 points in the NCAA Tournament opener against Southern University.

EMCC SPORTS HALL INDUCTEES
In conjunction with East Mississippi Community College’s Homecoming festivities this coming weekend (Oct. 25-26) on the Scooba campus, eight new members will be formally inducted into the EMCC Sports Hall of Fame.
EMCC’s 2019 Sports Hall of Fame inductees will be honored with a Friday night (Oct. 25) reception and banquet to be held at the F.R. Young Student Union. The eight-member class is also scheduled to be recognized Saturday afternoon (Oct. 26) at EMCC’s Sullivan-Windham Field during halftime activities of the two-time reigning national champion Lions’ 2 p.m. Homecoming football contest against the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers.
The 2019 induction class of the EMCC Sports Hall of Fame consists of Rodney Batts, Chris Chism, Martin Francis, Ikeler M. (Boy) Latimer, Richard Poole, John Rice Sr., Bo Wallace and David H. White Jr.
