The Choctaw County baseball team had a rough time against a powerful Houston team, losing 13-2 and 10-0 to fall to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in Region 4-3A.
“Our youthfulness and inexperience really showed this past week,” said coach Andy Young.
The second game was close until Houston scored six runs in the seventh. “The wheels fell off for us in the seventh,” Young said. But he added “I still feel this team I have is going to be A-OK.”
Rain has been a problem. “Gosh, we have been rained out I think seven times,” Young said. “We need to play. Good teams need to play to keep on being good and bad teams need to play to get better.”
The Chargers played Mantachie and and Itawamba Wednesday in a spring break tournament at Saltillo and will have region games with Hatley March 19v(away) and March 22 (home).
