Choctaw County golfer Brian Threadgill had a hole in one on the fifth hole in a match at Louisville County Club. It was a first for a Choctaw County golfer according to coach Gary Beals.
In the seven team match, Choctaw County finished third with a team score of 351. Jake Kight was medalist with a 67, leading Nanih Waiya to victory with 332, followed by Kosciusko with 350.
Preston Payne of Choctaw County had the second best score with 74. Other golfers for the Chargers were Spencer Power 90, Connor Jewell 91, Colin Clark 96 and Threadgill 97.
Choctaw County boys had two other matches last week. The Chargers were third of five teams at Starkville County Club with 356. Tupelo was first with 314, followed by Caledonia 339, Choctaw County, Starkville 357 and New Hope 398.
For Choctaw County, Payne had 83, Jewell 89, Power 91, Threadgill 93 and Clark 104.
Choctaw County finished second out of four teams in a nine-hod match at Elm Lake Golf Course, one stroke behind Amory. Payne had 47, Power and Clark each 48, Will Liddell 51 and Paxton Hammons and Wes Cagle each 64.
Choctaw County girls lost to Amory in a nine-hole match at Em Lake. Macy Claire Cagle had a 74, Blake Helms 66 and Jenna Bellew 67.
Choctaw County returns to Louisville Club for a march Thursday.
