Mixed results came out of last week’s matchup against Oak Hill for Winston Academy and both teams took away something different from the games.
The girls squad had the most momentum of the two teams carrying over to the Christmas holidays as they would come out and take care of business against the Lady Raiders on the road in a 45-40 game.
Hailey Bradford carried the load with 23 points in the game.
For the boys squad, the Patriots suffered another rough loss as they couldn’t get things going on either side of the ball without two starters and lost 60-28 to fall to 2-8 on the season.
The Lady Patriots (5-6) are working back to .500 and will have a chance to accomplish that when they will play at Mississippi University for Women on Friday and Saturday against Kemper and Columbus Christian respectively. That precedes the team hosting Starkville Academy on Jan. 3 as they get back into conference play.
For the boys, they’re off until that same evening when they play a surging SA team in a rivalry contest. Last season, the Patriots got their first win in 15 years against the Volunteers.
