Eupora Eagles play close in action

After a week off from basketball action, the Eupora Eagles were a little rusty against French Camp Academy last Thursday.

The two teams went on the road for a short trip to FCA and came away with a couple of losses as the Panthers were able to sweep the competition.

Egg Bowl Run comes through county

The ninth annual Egg Bowl Run came through Webster County the afternoon of Nov. 22.

Cadets of the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University Army ROTC and other military science programs carried the game day football from Oxford to Starkville that day.

Local teams play well in USTA state championships

The 2021 United States Tennis Association fall state championships were held Nov. 20-21 in the Jackson area. Webster County sent two teams this year to the event, both in the 18U division, plus two other county residents that played with other teams.

Football Playoffs top 25 announced

It’s official. Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State will go bowling this post season. No. 8 Ole Miss will play No. 7 Baylor, the Big 12 Champ, in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. Mississippi State will tangle with Texas Tech of the Big 12 in the Liberty Bowl on December 28. It will be the Bulldogs’ 12th consecutive bowl game.
