Eupora Parks & Recreation Department receives USA Football grant

The mayor and Eupora Economic Development Committee announce the city Parks and Recreation Department approval of a grant from the USA Football Organization.

This grant will support the equipment needs for the Eupora Parks and Recreation football program for both noncontact and contact football sport.

Warriors fall to Choctaw County, defeat Philadelphia, Leake County

The Nanih Waiya baseball team finished the regular season on a high note last week with two big wins.

After a tight 8-6 loss to Choctaw County on Monday, the Warriors beat Philadelphia 10-3 on Tuesday and then finished with a 15-0 win over Leake Central on Thursday.

The Tigers took an 11-1 win over Newton on Monday on Senior night before falling 15-1 to Northeast Lauderdale on Thursday to finish out the regular season.

Noxapater’s tough non-division scheduled paid off in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs on last week.

The Lady Tigers swept two games from Lumberton, allowing just one hit in two games as they beat the Lady Panthers 13-1 on Friday and 10-0 on Saturday.
