Garcia returns to winner’s circle with win at Jackson Country Club

Sergio Garcia won a one-shot victory over Pete Malnati to claim the Sanderson Farms Championship played at the Jackson Country Club this past week. Garcia shot a final round 67 and won for the first time since his 2017 Masters win.

Lady Chargers clinch MHSAA playoff spot

Choctaw County volleyball is assured of making the MHSAA 3A playoffs as a result of a 25-10, 25-20, 25-15 victory over Hatley. That left the Lady Chargers with a 2-1 record in Region 4-3A prior to Wednesday's game with Amory. Choctaw County defeated Hatley twice, but was defeated by Amory 3-0 the first time the teams met.

French Camp girls take home another cross country title

JACKSON -- Another week, another championship for the French Camp girls cross country team. The Lady Panthers edged St. Augustine of New Orleans 91-92 in Division II at the Watson High School meet. The meet was held last Saturday at Choctaw Trails, which will be the site of the 1A state meet Oct. 29.

‘Best game’ in recent history powers FCA to important win

Johnson, French Camp put it all together for a 33-12 victory over West Lowndes. “It's probably the best game we have played in three or four years,” said coach Nathan Wright. “It has been a long time coming. I'm very pleased.” Johnson led the Panthers on both sides of the ball.
