Ole Miss and Mississippi State fans have been anxiously awaiting this contest since last December, when the athletic directors of each school pulled the plug on their former head football coaches as Ole Miss hired Lane Kiffin and State hired the so quotable Mike Leach.

HCC football season comes to close

The COVID-19 season has been trying for the Holmes Community College Bulldogs. Due to COVID-19 concerns at Mississippi Delta Community College, the season finale Wednesday night will not be played, and the Bulldogs' season will come to an end. Holmes will end the season at 0-5 after falling to 52-9 to Itawamba last Thursday night in Goodman.

Six state champions crowned, including four undefeated teams

The Midsouth Association of Independent Schools capped off its football season this past week by crowning six state champions. Madison-Ridgeland, Leake, Manchester and Briarfield all capped off undefeated season to win state championships.
