CCHS hoops returns to court this week

The Choctaw County High School boys and girls basketball teams return to the court this week after being off for an extended period due to COVID quarantining. The Lady Chargers played Eupora Tuesday and have games scheduled at Nanih Waiya Thursday and Starkville Academy Saturday.

Not as many points as expected out of Egg Bowl participants

A couple of weeks ago in a high school eight-man football game in Iowa, Remsen St. Mary edged Montezuma, 108-94. Based on that score, a lot of Egg Bowl fans thought that this year’s 93rd Egg Bowl and 117th rival game could be an equally high scoring affair. It was not to be, but don’t blame the quarterbacks.
