Lady Warriors pick up pair of hoops wins

The Nanih Waiya girls basketball team picked up a pair of wins last week, while the NW boys lost twice as the team continued to work to grow as a team. Nanih Waiya was set to play Clarkdale and Enterprise this week.

Tigers, Lady Tigers have three games each on schedule this week

The Lady Tigers of Noxapater High School built an 11-point half-time lead against homestanding Hamilton last week, then held on for a 45-40 victory. In other action the Lady Tigers lost to Sebastopol 61-32, while the Noxapater boys fell to Sebastopol 47-35 and Hamilton 68-63.

Eagles winning streak comes to an end

This past week was short and tough for the GCS basketball teams. The Lady Eagles lost to Laurel Homeschool this past week 45-30, while the boys fell 58-45. Despite only having six players, the GCS Lady Eagles led for much of the game. “We gave ourselves a good chance to win until the third quarter,” said Coach Taylor Troyer.

Players from East Webster and Eupora recognized

Three East Webster football players and one from Eupora have received 2A all state recognition from the Mississippi Association of Coaches. East Webster junior long snapper Kainan Reed and Eupora senior outside linebacker Tra McComb made the first team.
