Nanih Waiya planning light week on basketball court

It was a light week for the Nanih Waiya basketball teams but not a very good one.

Nanih Waiya was swept by visiting Kemper County as the Lady Warriors fell 44-31 and the Warriors lost 55-39.

Louisville squad looking to Kosy matchups

The Louisville boys squad took two losses on the chin last week in Region 4 play at home. A hot Choctaw Central team came to town and took control of the game from the outset running away with a 65-31 victory. Northeast Lauderdale followed suit and swept the season series with a 79-57 win over the Wildcats in Louisville.

GSC Eagles continue to soar

This past week was another successful week for Coach Jason Morgan’s 24-2 Eagles. The Eagles went 2-0 this week with wins over Starkville Christian and EAGLE Homeschool.

The Eagles edged Starkville Christian in a close one, 49-42. The Eagles overcame a rough first quarter trailing 9-5 and played better as the game went on.

Noxapater Tigers looking for wins this week on the hardcourt

Noxapater wasn’t able to come away with a win on the basketball courts this past week.

The Lady Tigers only got in one game as they dropped a 49-38 decision to French Camp. Their game with Leake County was forfeited because they were in quarantine.
