Nanih Waiya softball team prepped for playoffs

The Nanih Waiya softball team prepped for the Class 2A playoffs this week with a pair of battles against a pair of division champions.

The Lady Warriors split the two games as they beat Ethel 8-7 on Tuesday but dropped a 10-2 contest to Pisgah on Thursday.

Diamond action keeping the Mississippi teams busy

It was a big weekend in Oxford for some. The Mississippi State baseball team spoiled some of the “Double Decker Arts Festival” by continuing their winning ways over their SEC rival. It was the Bulldogs’ sixth SEC season series win against the Rebels as MSU won two of the three games.
