Local DAR members attend state conference

Five members of the local Old Choctaw County Chapter attended the 116th state conference of the Mississippi State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution on Feb. 17-19 in Jackson.

The theme of the conference was American Patriotism. Over 300 women participated in the conference.

The Winston Self Defense Club had the opportunity this past Saturday to put some rounds down range. Sheriff Deputy Scott Kohrs instructed the group on safe firearm handling, and live fire exercises at multiple yardages to ensure accuracy with their firearms.
