WRITEON FOR NOVEMBER 11, 2020 sister alies. HAPPY VETERANS DAY to all served or are serving. You know there are many ways to serve. Some served in the military, some were CO’s who worked as medics or in alternative services, and all their families served through their prayers and care-packages with general concern about them. The word veteran means someone who has done something for a while. We talk about veteran baseball pitchers, or veteran coaches, or veteran dancers. The word implies that one knows what one’s doing and does it well. There are also veteran pouters, complainers, gossipers and whiners. You may know some. In November, we remember people who have served. This year we had the General Election and some veteran politicians came and went. They served our nation or our State. We are thankful for those who have helped us: veteran teachers, police, fire fighters, and grandpa/mas. I’m happy about the new flag and the fact that the artist is from Ackerman! Medical MJ will help some and I hope it will not be abused. I’m not happy with our Governor saying he won’t have mail-in balloting again. And why not? We’re grown! Let’s just remember today and every day to thank those who serve us in any way and for our military units deployed (hopefully on the way home) and in MS. Let’s look for ways we can serve others. One way is to wear a mask in public, to keep 6’, and to be careful about hygiene. Really. Look at the data. Cases increasing in Lowndes County. That’s not far! Pay attention. Think of the common good, not just yourself. BLESSINGS.
