For storytime Friday at the Maben Public Library we read “Good Night Owl.”
When owl got ready to go to bed he heard a noise. It was a tiny sound that he hadn’t heard before. He thought someone was at the door but nobody was there, then maybe the wind so he got back in bed.
Each time he would hear a noise when he got in bed. It went “squeak!” First he emptied all the shelves in the cupboard, no noise, then pulled up all the floorboards, then he took down the roof. After that he could see the stars and moon from his bed.
While in his bed he couldn’t go to sleep because he knew he would hear the noise and sure enough he did. It was in the walls! So yes, he tore the walls down. Then he saw the noise, a little mouse. So they went to bed together and said, “Good night owl!”
Vivie Halford, Hunter Vaughn, Tyler Kay Bates, and Nathan and Aiden Scerbak helped Lilli Cate Anderson celebrate her birthday Friday. She is 3.
