In December of 1968, Jettie Wilson accepted Harold Lucas’ invitation to meet at a basketball game in Eupora. On that date, they discovered they didn’t really enjoy basketball, but they did enjoy each other’s company.
The couple married at the Wilson home on March 7, 1969. Mr. and Mrs. Lucas have one child, Jeffrey, daughter-in-law, Beth, and a host of “critters” they care for. The couple, both retired, spend their time gardening, hunting, fishing, and enjoying their family. Whether it’s Harold wildly waving his cap in the grocery store or Jettie losing her fishing rod in the river – they still make each other laugh every day.
A reception to honor their 50 years together will be held on Saturday, March 16, at their residence near Weir from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (come and go). Friends and family are welcome to join us in this celebration. The couple has requested no gifts- your presence is gift enough.
