When not studying for school, Louisville youth and Grace Christian School students Julius and Robert Culwell spent their 2018 school year on the road traveling to horse shows across the United States.
All their hard work paid off in the show arena as the two brothers ended the 2018 show season with a total 20 Top Ten titles in various show classes in the 13 & Under division of Palomino Horse Breeders of America Association (PHBA) including placing all three of their horses in the Overall Top Ten for the division. After finishing the horse show season, younger brother Robert in his second year in the PHBA 13 & Under division won a total of 8 Top Ten class titles including 3rd place titles in trail and flag races riding his horse Famous N Fancy and a Championship in ranch riding.
As for overall division title, Robert placed 5th riding Famous N Fancy. As for older brother Julius, in his last year in the 13 & Under division he won a total of 12 Top Ten class titles including four Championships riding his horse How D My Valentine and five Reserve Championships riding his horse Hollywood NV ME.
As for overall division titles, Julius was the only youth in his division that was able to get two horses named Top Ten overall in the PHBA 13 & Under division including 1st riding How D My Valentine and 3rd riding Hollywood NV ME. Both brothers will be recognized by PHBA at the youth year-end banquet this July at the PHBA Youth World Show in Tunica, MS with older brother Julius being awarded a trophy saddle for his accomplishments with his horse How D My Valentine.
Youth wanting to get involved with PHBA can come to the upcoming PHBA Azalea Classic Horse Show March 30th through 31st at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center in Meridian, MS.
The show is also an open show for all horses and is recognized by the Pinto Horse Association of America (PtHA).
