The officers of the Louisville Garden Club hosted a plant “swap” at its May meeting. Members brought various plants from their yards to be exchanged with other members. The plant “swap” is an annual fun event and enjoyed by all members who enjoy taking home new and interesting plants.
Alice Wooten, President, welcomed eleven members and 3 visitors, Mitzie Taylor, Carlene Hill, and Frances Ball from Town and County Garden Club. After the blessing, members were served a box lunch and desert prepared by Market Café.
The officers elected to serve for the upcoming year were installed by Frances Ball from the Town and Country Garden Club using various flowers in the installation ceremony.
Glenda Chandler will serve as the president for the upcoming year. Other officers include Maryine Moody as 1st Vice President, Paige Yarbrough as 2nd VP, Dean Watkins, Secretary/Reporter, Ouida Donald, Treasurer, and Alice Wooten, Parliamentarian
President Wooten reminded members of the District meeting to be held at Lake Tiak O’Khata May 22nd.
The Louisville Garden Club meetings normally held on the second Tuesday of each month will be suspended until after the summer months so that all can enjoy vacationing with their families.
