By Sis. Linda Dempsey Highways & Hedges Worship Center Greetings in the precious name of Jesus. I pray God’s love abounds more and more in your heart. I know not everyone likes my piece in the paper last week, but I’m not through. Think of this way: Halloween will soon be over. I failed to mention skulls and skeletons, which represent death. We see them everywhere; people have skulls put on everything, even their bodies. They don't realize that they are inviting evil spirits in. The spirit world is real. There is a devil; he is trying to capture whomever he can, but we need to resist him, not invite him in our hearts. We sing a chorus at church that says, “Holy Spirit, thou are welcome in this place.” That’s not just talking about being welcome in our church, but in our hearts. I want to give you some Scripture today and let’s see what God says. In 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, it says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? “And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel (unbeliever)? “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” It’s not easy raising our children in a holy and godly lifestyle. But one day it will be worth it all, when we stand before God. We can’t let our children be controlled by the gods of this world. Teach them the difference between right and wrong, truth and lies, godly and evil, God and the devil. You may say, “My kids will make the right choices.” They won’t if they don’t know what the right choices are. May God lead and guide you!
